I became a barrister after a career in the British Army. I’m regularly instructed in dynamic and complex cases and am known for my pragmatic and robust style.
I regularly represent NHS organisations and large multi-national companies, including a supermarket chain, a leading multi-national engineering group and a number of car manufacturers. I’ve also represented a European Embassy, a number of local authorities and myriad of SMEs across all areas of employment law. I’ve developed a particular focus on whistleblowing and discrimination cases.
In addition I’ve acted on behalf of employees in cases of a sensitive nature, including a Muslim woman in a claim for sex discrimination against her Muslim employers, a nurse involved in the alleged mistreatment of nuns at a Convent which received coverage in the national media and a number of high profile claimants.
Recent cases have included:
Within my sports law practice I represent employees and organisations in professional disciplinary hearings and have recently carried out a number of internal investigations on behalf of well-known sport governing bodies.
I’m currently a Judicial Officer at World Rugby; Six Nations; European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR), Rugby Europe/7s and the Rugby Football Union (RFU).
I’ve also chaired disciplinary hearings for the Army Rugby Union, acted as a panel member on a disciplinary panel for British Gymnastics and carried out a confidential investigation on behalf of a British Olympic organisation. In addition, I’ve been appointed to the Sport Resolutions Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators.
