Members of the public can now go directly to a barrister for legal advice or representation without having to instruct a solicitor or other intermediary. In the past it was necessary for clients to use a solicitor or other recognised third party through whom the barrister would be instructed.
Although the barrister’s role remains largely the same it is now possible for you to instruct a barrister directly. This is usually an option worth considering where you know that you will need representation in court or require some written legal opinion. One of our experienced team of advisers will be able to assist you in deciding whether your case is suitable for direct access or not.
