3PB Direct

I represents relatives, guardians and local authorities in connection with a vast array of subjects from abuse, violence, injury and abduction to financial remedy cases and matrimonial finance.

Legal Expertise

My family law expertise spans pubic law, private law, matrimonial finance and divorce, surrogacy and Court of Protection work.

In terms of public law cases I receive instructions from local authorities, parents, grandparents and guardians in a variety of cases many involving complex issues such as non-accidental injury, child fatality, sexual abuse, significant mental health issues, cognitive / capacity issues and personality disorders.

In private family law scenarios I have experience of cases including domestic abuse, sexual abuse, intractable contact disputes, parental alienation, implacable hostility, r16.4 guardians, internal and international relocation and also child abduction.

With matrimonial finance and divorce cases I’m qualified and able to advise in all areas of finance including third party interventions; s.37 protective applications and enforcement and variation of financial remedy orders. I’m known for my pragmatic and commercial approach to matrimonial finance and have a growing reputation for dealing with complex or medium to high net worth cases. I’m often the barrister of choice in cases involving a family business or those with non-disclosure issues, trusts and pension features.

I can also advise you on TOLATA claims and applications under Schedule 1 of the Children Act as well as contested divorces and nullity.

In terms of cases involving surrogacy I have experience in assisted reproduction matters involving parental order applications as well as other alternatives including adoption and child arrangement orders, many of which involve international surrogacy arrangements.

Finally, my wide ranging Court of Protection expertise includes DOLs (Deprivation of Liberty) applications; contact; welfare; medical treatment; LPAs and EPAs; property and financial affairs and statutory wills.

Within DOLs applications, I represent Local Authorities, CCGs and the Official Solicitor and I have a particular interest in the cross-over between family proceedings and the deprivation of liberty of young persons.
